General Description Service Plans

With the introduction of the new ZEISS Secacam products, we are expanding our offering to include subscriptions (monthly or annual payment methods). These subscriptions include a variety of attractive features and digital solutions.

Customers can, as usual with SECACAM, purchase digital credit. With the expanded offering of videos, image credit has now become credits, which can be used for both photo and video transmission. The option to purchase credits in advance is called "Prepaid Service."

In addition to the Prepaid Service, we are launching three different subscriptions that differ in terms of the included features.

Prepaid Service

The Prepaid Service includes the transmission and reception of images, as well as the free use of our ZEISS Secacam app.

In the app, users in the Prepaid Service have access to numerous useful basic functions. These include:

Adding and deleting cameras in the account, camera overview, image galleries including the ability to view, zoom in on, download, share, delete, or add to a favorite gallery, as well as other camera-specific settings (camera name, notification function settings when receiving images or changed statuses, pausing the transmission function (planned), retrieving instant images (planned, requires the "Photo on Demand" operating mode, associated with higher energy consumption), sharing cameras with friends, and displaying the installation location if the camera supports GPS and the user has enabled the function.

For the transmission of images from a camera to the ZEISS Secacam system and thus to the ZEISS Secacam app of the customer, transmission costs apply. We charge the customer one (1) credit for each image transmission. In the ZEISS Secacam Service, no separate costs are incurred for images with higher resolution (HD). Each transmission size is charged with only one credit.

VenTrade expressly reserves the right to make changes to the tier levels and to remove existing or add additional tier levels.

Credits are used across all owned cameras logged into an account. When the credits are depleted, no further images will be transmitted from the cameras to the ZEISS Secacam app of the customer until the credits are replenished.

Purchased credits do not expire as long as an account is not deleted. The cost of purchased credits cannot be refunded.

All previous mobile SECACAM models can continue to be used in the Prepaid Service. Images in the Prepaid Service are stored in our cloud for 2 months based on the capture date and then deleted.

Remote Control

The remote control is used to remotely control the cameras and is an integral part of all subscriptions.

ZEISS Secacam remote control is operated through the ZEISS Secacam app. Here, users can conveniently make almost all menu settings from home that can also be made at the camera menu itself. In addition, the remote control offers additional settings and features that are exclusively accessible through the remote control.

The essential settings of the remote control include:

Setting image size (on the SD card and size of transmitted images), number of images per image series (1 to 5 images at intervals of approximately 0.8 - 1 second) and switching from normal series mode to a faster shot sequence mode (if supported by the camera, then at intervals of approximately 0.25 seconds), selecting the image to be sent from an image series, setting video resolution and length on the SD card, turning on video transmission, and determining whether videos are selectively downloaded on demand or automatically sent with each resolution (if video transmission is supported by the camera and the chosen subscription), adjusting the sensitivity of the motion sensor and flash mode for night shots, timer, time-lapse recordings, defining up to two control image points where the camera automatically sends control photos regardless of the motion sensor, delay after triggering, rule intervals for the motion sensor-independent communication of the camera with our servers, maximum number of images to be sent per hour, turning the GPS module on/off, manually adjusting the camera's time zone, adjusting the printed camera name in the photo, turning off the PIN query, turning on/off the overwrite mode of the SD card, resetting to factory settings.

Our cameras undergo constant developments. Minor deviations by camera model, the removal of individual settings, or the addition of new features are possible at any time and do not constitute a defect.

Updating Settings with the Remote Control

Due to the special functionality of the ZEISS Secacam cameras, changes to the camera only take effect with a subsequent connection of the camera to the ZEISS Secacam servers, typically with the transmission of a recording or when the camera regularly connects to the servers in the set communication intervals.

It is possible to put cameras in continuous operation mode. In this case, changes to the settings are updated much faster in the camera. However, this mode must be activated by the customer, and the established continuous connection consumes significantly more power.

Basic Subscription

The Basic Subscription includes all the services of the Prepaid Service and remote control. In addition, the Basic Subscription includes the following additional inclusive services and solutions:

Inclusive Volume

In the Basic Subscription, 100 credits per billing month are included in the price. At the beginning of another billing month, the customer receives 100 new inclusive credits per Basic Subscription. Unused inclusive credits until the end of the month are not carried over to the next billing month.

If a customer uses multiple cameras in the Basic Subscription, the inclusive volume of all cameras in the Basic Subscription is calculated and used by all cameras. With two cameras, the inclusive volume is accordingly 200 credits.

If the included credits in the Basic Subscription are completely used up before the end of a billing month, the cameras resort to any available prepaid credits in the account. If no prepaid credits are available, the cameras will not send any more images. It is possible at any time to purchase prepaid credits for an account to ensure that cameras in the Basic Subscription continue to send even if the inclusive volume is exhausted before the end of a billing month.

Storage Duration

In the Basic Subscription, the storage duration of received recordings in the ZEISS Secacam is 2 months. After that, images are automatically deleted. Customers can download and locally save at any time during the 2 months and thereby extend the storage duration.

Premium Subscription

The Premium Subscription includes all services of the Prepaid Service, remote control, and the Basic Subscription. In addition, the Premium Subscription includes the following additional inclusive services and solutions:

Inclusive Volume

In the Premium Subscription, 750 credits per billing month are included in the price. At the beginning of another billing month, the customer receives 750 new inclusive credits per Premium Subscription. Unused inclusive credits until the end of the month are not carried over to the next billing month.

If a customer uses multiple cameras in the Premium Subscription, the inclusive volume of all cameras in the Premium Subscription is calculated and used by all cameras. With two cameras, the inclusive volume is accordingly 1500 credits.

If the included credits in the Premium Subscription are completely used up before the end of a billing month, the cameras resort to any available prepaid credits in the account. If no prepaid credits are available, the cameras will not send any more images. It is possible at any time to purchase prepaid credits for an account to ensure that cameras in the Premium Subscription continue to send even if the inclusive volume is exhausted before the end of a billing month.

Video Delivery

In the premium subscription, video delivery is available. The customer can specify through the app whether they want to receive videos in addition to photos. For technical reasons, videos for delivery are reduced to a length of 10 seconds and a resolution of 480 pixels. In this case, storage on the SD card is done at the same length and resolution.

The customer can choose between immediate video delivery upon detected motion and video on demand in the app. With video on demand, the customer can decide based on the images in the image gallery which associated videos they want to download. The selected videos are then usually downloaded with one of the next connections of the camera to the ZEISS Secacam servers and displayed as playable in the gallery.

Inclusive Videos

In the premium subscription, 25 videos are included in the monthly price. At the beginning of another billing month, the customer receives 25 new videos for each premium subscription. Unused inclusive videos by the end of the month are not carried over to the next billing month.

If a customer uses multiple cameras in the premium subscription, the inclusive videos of all cameras in the premium subscription are calculated together and shared among all cameras. With two cameras, the sum of inclusive videos accordingly adds up to 50 videos.

If the inclusive videos included in the premium subscription are completely used before the end of a billing month, the cameras will use any available prepaid credits in the account. Four prepaid credits are consumed for one video. If no prepaid credits are available, the cameras will not send any further recordings. It is possible to purchase prepaid credits for an account at any time to ensure that cameras in the premium subscription continue to send even if the inclusive volume is exhausted before the end of a billing month.

Storage Duration

In the Premium Subscription, the storage duration of received recordings in the ZEISS Secacam is 6 months. After that, images are automatically deleted. Customers can download and locally save at any time during the 6 months and thereby extend the storage duration.

Animal Recognition

The Premium subscription includes the innovative feature "Animal Recognition." With this feature, animals in images are detected, and their species is identified. To enable the Animal Recognition function and analyze images for animal species, Carl Zeiss AG ("ZEISS") receives access to the images from VenTrade GmbH ("VenTrade"). ZEISS evaluates these images and analyzes whether and which living beings (and possibly other recognizable objects) are present in the images. ZEISS sends the results back to VenTrade in the form of transmitted species and position in the image. VenTrade processes this information in the image gallery by optionally framing recognized animals and displaying the animal species. Through filter functions, it will soon be possible to narrow down the display results in the image gallery to selected animal species.

The customer is aware that a temporary limitation of functions or an imprecise capture and identification of animal species, living beings, and objects does not constitute a deficiency in performance and thus is not a reason for extraordinary termination of a subscription or a reduction in the entitlement to remuneration. The customer is also aware that a refusal of the data protection consent declaration makes image analysis as described above impossible and can lead to a limited range of services, which VenTrade is not responsible for. In particular, for the Animal Recognition product and the associated filtering options and advanced statistics in the Premium and Professional plans, image analysis is mandatory. The customer is also aware that image analysis is not possible retroactively but only from the date of granting consent to the data protection consent declaration.

Professional Subscription

The Professional Subscription includes all services of the Prepaid Service, remote control, Basic Subscription, and the Premium Subscription. In addition, the Premium Subscription includes the following additional inclusive services and solutions:

Inclusive Volume

In principle, the number of images included in the Premium subscription is unlimited. However, if the number of images permanently far exceeds the volume of normal use, VenTrade reserves the right to exclude the cameras concerned from sending images or to limit the size of the images sent to "Small". An image volume of more than 1,000 images per day on several days per month or more than 10,000 images per month is considered to be far in excess of normal usage.

Storage Duration

In the Premium Subscription, the storage duration of received recordings in the ZEISS Secacam is 12 months. After that, images are automatically deleted. Customers can download and locally save at any time during the 12 months and thereby extend the storage duration.

Inclusive Videos

In the Professional subscription, 50 videos are included in the monthly price. At the beginning of another billing month, the customer receives 50 new inclusive videos per Professional subscription. Unused inclusive videos by the end of the month are not carried over to the next billing month.

If a customer uses multiple cameras in the Professional subscription, the inclusive videos of all cameras in the Professional subscription are calculated together and shared among all cameras. With two cameras, the sum of inclusive videos accordingly adds up to 100 videos.

If the inclusive videos included in the Professional subscription are completely used before the end of a billing month, the cameras will use any available prepaid credits in the account. Four prepaid credits are consumed for one video. If no prepaid credits are available, the cameras will not send any further recordings. It is possible to purchase prepaid credits for an account at any time to ensure that cameras in the Professional subscription continue to send even if the inclusive volume is exhausted before the end of a billing month.

Color the Night

In the Professional subscription, the "Color the Night" function will be available in the future. With this function, night recordings are colorized retrospectively. The colors of a reference image taken during the day are analyzed and transferred to the night. Depending on the installation location, recording situation, or the activated time window, there may be no suitable color image from the day as a reference for coloring the night images. Especially at the beginning of using this function, it may happen that no suitable reference image from the day is available. It may also happen that environmental conditions change significantly during the night (e.g., due to snowfall).

The customer is aware that, due to the aforementioned conditions, there may be impairments and limitations in coloring night recordings, which do not constitute a deficiency in performance and therefore do not provide a basis for extraordinary termination of a subscription or a reduction in the entitlement to remuneration. The customer is also aware that a refusal of the data protection consent declaration makes color analysis as described impossible and can lead to a limited range of services, which VenTrade is not responsible for. The customer is also aware that color analysis is generally not possible retroactively but only from the date of granting consent to the data protection consent declaration.

The introduction of "Color the Night" is planned for spring 2024. A later introduction of this function does not constitute a deficiency in performance and therefore does not provide a basis for extraordinary termination of a subscription or a reduction in the entitlement to remuneration.

ZEISS Theft Replacement Service

The ZEISS Theft Replacement Service is a solution for the cost-effective replacement of stolen cameras. Upon positive verification of a theft report, customers can purchase a new replacement camera of the same/equivalent model at a price reduced by 80% compared to the recommended retail price of the ZEISS Secacam online shop. General Subscription Regulations

Different cameras within an account can be operated in both the prepaid service and one of the three subscriptions (Basic, Premium, or Professional subscription). Apart from combined use with the prepaid service, it is not possible to combine different subscriptions within an account.

Within an account, the user can book as many subscriptions of the same category as desired. Subscriptions are independent of cameras in an account. In the ZEISS Secacam app, the user can assign the booked subscriptions to the existing cameras as desired. For example, if the user has booked 1 subscription but operates 3 cameras, they can assign the existing subscription, including the associated benefits, to any of the three cameras and change this assignment as needed. However, removing a subscription from a camera can only be done every 30 days. During this period, the subscription is bound to the respective camera and cannot be assigned to another camera before the end of the 30 days.

If a camera is removed from a Basic, Premium, or Professional subscription, it automatically falls into the prepaid service.

Older models of the SECACAM brand are not compatible with the subscriptions, and the features associated with the subscriptions cannot be used or booked separately. However, continued use in the prepaid service is possible and can be combined with the new ZEISS Secacam cameras in the same account.

Duration, Billing Period, and Cancellation of Subscriptions

The billing period begins with the first activation of a Basic, Premium, or Professional subscription within an account. Billing occurs on a monthly or annual basis at the start of the billing period.

When concluding additional subscriptions, the duration is aligned with the existing subscriptions. Therefore, when adding subscriptions in the middle of the billing period, a prorated month/year may be calculated for subsequently added subscriptions.

When booking a fourth or additional subscription, a quantity discount is granted for all subscriptions (starting with the first subscription). If the addition of the fourth or subsequent subscriptions occurs in the middle of the billing period, the discount for all affected plans is calculated proportionally, and only the remaining difference amount is invoiced.

Subscriptions automatically renew unless the customer cancels the subscription before the end of the term. Cancellation is possible at any time during the billing period, effective at the end of the billing period. The services associated with a subscription will be maintained until the end of the billing period/the effectiveness of the cancellation.

Changes to Subscription Components

VenTrade expressly reserves the right to make adjustments or changes to the components of subscriptions.
